Bring & Share Food Day – Tuesday 23rd April 2024

Celebrating Diversity Through Food: Bring-and-Share Food Day.

On Tuesday 23rd April, we held our first Bring-and-Share Food Day event at our brand-new venue, the Old Courthouse in Grays.

Students and staff were invited to showcase a traditional dish from their respective cultures. Participants brought dishes that held special significance to their cultural heritage, each one telling a story of family recipes passed down through generations and cherished memories of home-cooked meals from their home countries.

The event was a great turnout, tables were filled with an array of dishes from around the world, representing countries near and far. From savoury samosas to semolina pudding, there was something to tempt every palate.

The Bring and Share Food Day was more than just a feast for the senses, it was a celebration of diversity, inclusion, and understanding. Attendees were excited to sample each other’s offerings and interact with each other through their love of food. All the recipes from the day will be collated and turned into a TACC community cookbook in remembrance of this special occasion.

At TACC we are committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where all are celebrated and valued. The Bring and Share Day served as a reminder that while we may come from different backgrounds, we are all part of the same community.
