Sessional Tutors for English, Maths and ESOL

Starting salary: teaching rate from £22.86 - £25 70 dependent on courses taught
To start as soon as possible

Who we are
Our vision at Thurrock Adult Community College is to provide education where people have the opportunity to learn, grow and shape their future.
Now Covid restrictions have been removed, we would like to increase the range of subjects we offer and are looking to grow our team of tutors. If you are interested in joining us to teach any of these subjects we look forward to receiving your application:
English, maths, ESOL,
We are also looking for tutors to teach young people (aged 16-18) and adults with learning difficulties & disabilities.
If you are interested in teaching a subject not listed above please contact us - we may be able to include it in our offer.
Who you are
Learner focused
Enthusiastic and passionate about your subject and passing your knowledge on to others
Have some experience of teaching adults - desirable.
Have a teaching qualification at level 3 or higher - if not we offer the level 3 qualification to our staff for free
Have a specialism in maths, English or ESOL ideally, if applying for these posts

You will prepare course materials, identify students' needs, adapt workshops and courses, and continually assess the effectiveness of your teaching. Knowledge of Google Classroom is desirable with a willingness to undertake training where necessary.

English, maths, ESOL, Counselling, Health & Social Care, Bookkeeping levels 1-4, Teaching Assistants Level 3, Digital Skills, Leadership & Management, BSL, Lip Reading, Floristry, Singing, Horticulture, Cooking, Cake decorating, Knitting, Crochet, Art, Crafts, Food Safety, Paediatric First Aid, EFAW, Ukrainian, Family Learning, Wellbeing (Confidence building, Mindfulness and  Meditation), Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Pilates.

Job vacancies - Sessional LSA's required

The role
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all learners.
Establish constructive relationships with supported learners according to their individual needs.
Support learners in a one-to-one or a small group setting in class or online.
Work on differentiated activities, using strategies or resources to help learners achieve.
Work under the direction of the Tutor/Learning Guidance team to provide maximum impact from support.
Assist with the development and implementation of learning support plans.
Be willing to travel around the Borough.
